Wildlife of Kaziranga National Park

Fauna in Kaziranga

Kaziranga National Park is known worldwide for its one horned rhinoceros, large herds of wild elephants, swamp deer, wild buffalo, and rich birdlife. The tall grasslands, wetlands, and riverine forests along the Brahmaputra create a habitat that supports a huge range of species. This variety makes Kaziranga one of the most important wildlife reserves in India and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The park is especially famous for hosting two thirds of the world’s population of one horned rhinos. Along with them, many mammals, birds, and reptiles thrive in the marshy environment.
