Planning your Kaziranga safari is easy. You can book your jeep safari in advance and choose your preferred range based on availability.
Regular Jeep Safari Booking
You can book your jeep permit ahead of time and secure the zone you want.
This is recommended for families, groups, and travelers with fixed dates.
Once confirmed, your permit includes entry permission for a specific gate, and a forest guide will accompany the safari.
Safari Timings
- Morning Safari: Starts soon after sunrise and continues for about 2 to 3 hours. Morning light is soft, and animals remain active near grassland edges.
- Evening Safari: Starts in the late afternoon and ends before sunset. This time is ideal for birds and elephant movement.
Safari schedules depend on season and visibility. It is good to check timing updates before your trip.

Kaziranga remains closed during monsoon due to flooding from the Brahmaputra River.
Types of Safaris in Kaziranga
Jeep Safari (Open Gypsy) : Best for close wildlife viewing. Jeeps travel through grasslands, watchtowers, water channels, and forest patches. Good for photography and birding.
Elephant Safari (Morning Ride): Offered seasonally in select zones. Provides closer rhino sightings, especially in early morning hours.
Both safaris are conducted with official guides who help identify animals, birds, and movement trails.
Important Information for Online Booking
- Safari permits must be booked in advance.
- Visitor name, age, and ID details are needed at booking.
- Foreign tourists should carry their passport.
- Booked permits cannot be transferred or refunded.

Best Time to Visit
Winter (November to February)
The best months to visit. Cool weather, clear visibility, active birdlife, and frequent elephant and rhino movement.
Summer (March to April)
Warm days but good wildlife activity near water channels and open grass areas. Recommended for photographers.
Monsoon (May to October)
The park remains closed. Floodwater spreads across the grasslands, and roads are not accessible.
